In his second season, Lamitina qualified for the NCAA national championship and became an All-American athlete.  As an undergraduate at Caltech, Lamitina works in optics labs, exoplanet research labs, and more. He spent two summers on research fellowships at NASA\u2019s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which is administered by Caltech and often features collaborative research with Caltech faculty and students. \u201cIt\u2019s been great, and definitely something you wouldn\u2019t get to experience anywhere else,\u201d he says.
